MATES IN MIND · GROWING AN EXISTING PARTNERSHIP
Help build the Mentoring Men capacity behind local club support.
The 2026 pilot is underway in four clubs. Six clubs are confirmed for 2027, with the potential for more. We’re seeking support to train more people and prepare the team behind the delivery.
Talk about funding this workAN EXISTING DELIVERY RELATIONSHIP
Mates in Mind is operated by Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney, with Mentoring Men providing training and capability support.

ALREADY UNDERWAY. READY FOR THE NEXT STAGE.
This is an existing revenue-generating partnership for Mentoring Men. Funding would help us build the people, training and delivery support needed to take on more work well.
Put the delivery model into practice and learn alongside the clubs.
Prepare for the next group, with the potential to support more.
LOCAL SUPPORT, WITH CAPABILITY BEHIND IT
Mates in Mind helps sporting clubs equip familiar people to listen, start a conversation and connect someone with further support when needed.

MM brings training methods, resources, facilitator support and implementation expertise. Building this team helps us deliver consistently as the programme grows.
Trainers and facilitators prepare and support the people doing the local work.
Men can also explore ongoing support through Mentoring Men’s separate, free one-to-one mentorship service.
Applications, intake and suitability checks come before a mentor match.
WHAT YOUR SUPPORT COULD MAKE POSSIBLE
The ask is for Mentoring Men’s capacity: more mentors, more people able to train others, and the support needed to deliver well.
We want to build face-to-face delivery capacity across eastern Australia, including Victoria, as partner demand develops.
Recruit, train and support more MM volunteer mentors, strengthening the one-to-one pathway for men who want ongoing support.
Prepare more people to deliver training, support club peer mentors and bring face-to-face sessions to more locations.
Back coordination, resources, facilitator preparation, follow-up and evaluation—the work that helps a growing programme run well.
BEYOND ONE PARTNERSHIP
A partner can lead its own programme, while Mentoring Men brings the training and support behind it.
Mates in Mind gives us an existing partnership to build from. Strengthening our delivery capability can also prepare MM to work with other organisations through programmes carrying their own brands.
That creates a practical path to more earned income alongside donations, grants and sponsorships. Future partnerships would be developed and agreed individually.
WHY FUND CAPACITY IF THE WORK EARNS INCOME?
Paid delivery and the capacity to grow it are connected. We need trained people, resources and coordination ready to meet demand, including the time it takes to prepare new trainers and facilitators.
Your support would help build that foundation around an existing partnership. The funding conversation would set out the part of MM’s work you could back, the scope and the reporting.
About the programme: Mates in Mind. This opportunity supports Mentoring Men’s capability and delivery, rather than funding the whole partner programme.
